ABOUT “REMNANTS OF HOME”
During our quarantine at home, I began working on a new collection of small abstract art made entirely from natural + recycled materials from around my home.
Every shade of paint was created from grinding stone & earth collected in our creek into pigment & using egg yolks from our pet chickens as the binder.
Each piece of paper is made from pulping recycled materials (letters, boxes + organic materials) into beautiful sheets of earth-toned paper to paint on.
All 20 paintings are made completely from the resources at home making each piece truly a one of a kind piece, unable to be reproduced.
This time and process have been so enjoyable, focusing on “the art of slow living” and practicing ancient art techniques that are often forgotten in today’s fast-paced world.
Each piece of paper is handmade so exact size and texture vary from piece to piece, making every painting all the more beautiful and unique!
